Los Angeles, August 14, 2013 - Greenbar Distillery announced the winners of its national BAR KEEP Bitters Challenge, a search to discover the next two flavors in its bitters line. Hot Vanilla by Dustin Newsom of Los Angeles and Saffron by Dominick Tardungo and Tyler Brassil of Orlando will join the company's current line of four bitters in early 2014 and retail for $16-20 per 8 oz bottle. One of the line's original flavor, Swedish, by Adam Seger of Chicago, will be retired into the Greenbar vault at the end of the year.

"Bitters are a growing passion for bartenders and drinks enthusiasts as an essential cocktail ingredient," said Melkon Khosrovian, co-founder and spiritsmaker of Greenbar Distillery. "We're thrilled to work with Dustin, Dominick and Tyler and help them share their bitters with the world."

BAR KEEP is a unique collaboration between Greenbar Distillery and working bartenders to create and market original, intensely flavorful bitters and share in the profits. It was born at Tales of The Cocktail in 2009 and only allows in bitters that have won their way into the collection through double-blind trials. The line currently includes Apple (Marshall Altier), Chinese (Josh Loving), Fennel (Adam Stemmler & Dustin Haarstad) and Lavender (Tobin Eliis and John Hogan).

This year's final round judges included Eric Alperin of The Varnish, Michel Dozois of Névé Ice, Joe Keeper of Bar Keeper, David Othenin-Girard of K&L Wines and Melkon Khosrovian of Greenbar Distillery. They chose the winners from a set of seven finalists based on originality, versatility and commercial potential.
